Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal reformed his 20 members cabinet on Wednesday evening. 16 new ministers including three newly appointed deputy prime ministers, have taken the oath of office and secrecy before President Ramchandra Paudel.
They received the oath upon the recommendation of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, in accordance with Article 80 of the Constitution, at a special function held at the President's office this evening.
The prime minister appointed four ministers from his party, the CPN (Maoist Centre), seven from the CPN-UML, three from the Rastriya Swatantra Party and two from the CPN (Unified Socialist) on Wednesday whereas three members each from UML, Maoist Centre and Swatantra Party had taken their oath on Monday this week.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayankaji Shrestha, Finance Minister Barshman Pun, Communications and Information Technology Minister Rekha Sharma, and Energy Minister Shakti Basnet took the oath of office and secrecy on behalf of CPN (Maoist Centre). Culture, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Hit Bahadur Tamang has already taken oath.
Raghubir Mahaseth will lead the CPN-UML team in the government as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport. Likewise, Rajendra Rai has been appointed the Minister for Water Supply; Bhagwati Chaudhary the Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens; Hari Uprety and Balram Adhikari took the oath of office and secrecy as Minister for Defence and Minister for Land Management and Cooperatives respectively.
Likewise, Damodar Bhandari the Minister for Industry Commerce and Supplies and Jwala Kumari Sah the Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development.
CPN (Unified Socialist) members, Bhanu Bhakta Joshi as Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration and Dhan Bahadur Budha as Minister for Urban Development took their oath as a cabinet ministers.
Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, Minister of Education, Science and Technology Sumana Shrestha and Minister of Youth and Sports Birajbhakta Shrestha took the oath on behalf of the National Independent Party. Labor Employment and Social Security Minister Dolprasad Aryal has already taken oath.
