President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, underscoring the administration’s developmental projects have been planned and organized, states cooperation from the public is what is needed to implement these plans.

He made the remark while speaking at a campaign event of Ashrag Ali who is contesting for Th. Kinbidhoo constituency in the upcoming parliamentary election on ruling PNC’s ticket.

President Muizzu, in this regard, said that Kolhumadulu will become an atoll that has been brought to the center of Maldives’ development radar if the government gets cooperation from Thaa Atoll constituents. He expressed that his spirit remained strong in order to accomplish this, adding results can be produced with cooperation from the people.

“Results are everything for me. What is most important for me is to produce results for all islands in all constituencies.  There is just one thing in the people’s hands. Writing a checkmark,” he said.

President Muizzu has pledged to strengthen Thaa Atoll’s economy and create more jobs.  In this regard, he has expressed his wishes to facilitate the opportunity for youths from Thaa Atoll to remain at their native island for their jobs, citing the atoll has fewer job opportunities. For this, he emphasized the need to expand industries to the atoll.

In his earlier trip to Thaa Atoll, President Muizzu affirmed that numerous projects will be initiated at Thaa Atoll. In this regard, he said his administration would bring an end to the fact that there is only one resort in Thaa Atoll and make the causeway linking Veymandoo and Kibidhoo a reality.

Linking Kinbidhoo and Veymandoo via a causeway is an electoral pledge of former president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. At the conclusion of his five-year term, no work on the project had been commenced, and no progress had been achieved.
