SATV 03 October Kathmandu: In the joint organization of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China(UESTC) , Department of Languages and Mass Communication, Kathmandu University School of Arts and Kangba Television the second Trans-Himalaya Communication and Social Development Conference has been started in Kathmandu University on 2nd October. The program has been conducted primarily focusing on the sharing of the communication ideas and cultures of both the countries.
On the opening ceremony the president of UESTC Hu Jun welcomed the scholars from Nepal, India, USA and many other countries and highlighted the importance of the forum on the exchange of communication around the Himalayan region.
Prithvi Subba Gurung, Nepal's minister of communications and information technology, on his speech said that the Nepali government is committed to building high-quality science and technology and promoting digitalization to enhance the country's development potential.
Languages and Mass communication department head at Kathmandu University, Nirmal Mani Adhikary has taken this conference as the platform for the exchange of culture, research and innovations from the China, Nepal and other parts of the world. He added,' So, with this conference we aim at organizing more programs and initiatives and collaborations in more research and applied aspects of communication."
During the interview with SATV, a student of Kathmandu University said that this program has been the focal point in understanding the Chinese language and culture from the very near.
As the famous scholars working on the field of communication and language throughout the world, came under the same umbrella of this program, they talked about the positive outcome after the cooperation and coordination taken place on the ground of this conference.
