SATV 9 March,Kathmandu: With the objective of promoting Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, and the surrounding Buddhist heritage sites, the Lumbini International Peace Marathon going to be held in Lumbini on March 22nd 2025.

The marathon is organized by the Nepal Olympic Committee, the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, and the Nepal Tourism Board.

The marathon will have four categories: Men’s Marathon, Half Marathon for Women, 5 km Public Run, and 5 km School Run. Winners and other participants in each category will receive honorable prizes. The winner of the Men’s Marathon will receive NPR 350,000, the second place will get NPR 250,000, and prizes will be awarded up to the tenth place. The winner of the Women’s Half Marathon will receive NPR 150,000.

The winners of the 5 km Public Run and School Run will receive NPR 12,000 and NPR 10,000, respectively, as announced by the organizers.

Anyone can participate in this International Peace Marathon, and the organizers are expecting maximum participation. One can scan the QR code mentioned above and fill out the form to participate in Marathon. Participants can also sign up by filling out the Google Form, as indicated by the organizers.
