SATV 8 May, Kathmandu: A total of 12 Nepalis, including one woman and 11 men, have been rescued from Myanmar's Myawaddy and brought to Thailand via the Tak Immigration Office in Mae Sot. The Nepali Embassy in Bangkok facilitated their rescue and repatriation to Nepal on Wednesday.
These individuals were trafficked by human smugglers to Myanmar's Myawaddy , where they were involved in online scamming activities.
The Embassy of Nepal in Bangkok issued a statement on Wednesday urging Nepali citizens to only seek foreign employment by obtaining labor permits in accordance with government regulations.
The Embassy also requested that people refrain from being lured into seeking foreign jobs in countries like Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand, driven by the temptation of quick money and high earnings.
