SATV 13 May, Kathmandu: The Department of Roads and Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) have issued a 35-day ultimatum to remove unauthorized structures built within 15 meters on either side of the Jadibuti–Pepsicola road section.
In a joint notice published on Monday, individuals with structures built without approved blueprints or in violation of approved plans have been instructed to demolish or remove them voluntarily.
As per the notice, the Ministry of Physical Planning and Construction had, on December 3, 2001 declared the area extending 15 meters on both sides from the road centerline between Jadibuti Chowk and Pepsicola Chowk as part of the road boundary.
A joint demarcation of the area was carried out by the federal and local governments on April 23. The notice warns that if the structures are not removed within the given 35-day period, action will be taken under Section 19 of the Public Roads Act 2031 BS, the Local Government Operation Act, and relevant building codes.
