SATV Kathmandu Oct 07: Nepal Women defeated Malaysia Women by six wickets in the fourth T20I of their 2025 tour at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur, on Tuesday. Chasing 112, Nepal reached 115 for four in 17.3 overs to secure victory.
The five-match series has now been levelled 2-2, with the final match scheduled for Wednesday.
Malaysia, electing to bat first after winning the toss, posted 111 for five in their allotted 20 overs. Mas Elysa scored an unbeaten 56 runs while Mahirah Izzati Ismail added 18 and Nur Dania Syuhada 15.
Nepal’s bowlers applied pressure throughout the innings, with Kabita Kunwar leading the attack, taking three wickets for 10 runs in four overs. Puja Mahato and Kabita Joshi also chipped in with one wicket each, helping contain the Malaysian total.
In response, Nepal got off to a steady start. Samjhana Khadka and Rubi Poddar put together crucial partnerships to maintain the chase. Khadka scored 11 while Poddar, the wicketkeeper, made 5 before being dismissed early.
Kabita Kunwar anchored the innings with 16 runs, and Puja Mahato contributed a quick 7. Captain Indu Barma remained unbeaten on 48, guiding Nepal home with support from Rubina Chhetry, who also remained not out on 23. Nepal lost four wickets in the process but managed to cross the target with 15 balls to spare.
