SATV Kathmandu Oct 31: Domestic and international flights from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) were disrupted today due to adverse weather conditions, officials said.
TIA spokesperson Rinjee Sherpa confirmed that poor in-route weather led to diversions and suspensions. Domestic flights to Bharatpur and Tumlingtar have been temporarily suspended, while arrivals at Pokhara Airport were halted, allowing only departures.
Sherpa added that a Shree Airlines flight from Biratnagar to Kathmandu was diverted back to Biratnagar, and another from Bhairahawa to Kathmandu returned to Bhairahawa.
In the international sector, a Nepal Airlines flight was diverted to New Delhi, while an Indigo Air plane was also rerouted to New Delhi and an Air India flight to Lucknow.
Visibility at TIA is currently reported at 2,500 meters, and officials noted that challenging en-route conditions are affecting flight operations nationwide.
