Huawei Nepal Host ‘Tech Forward: Media Dialogue 2026’ to Propel Digital Transformation

SATV, Kathmandu, May 3 | On April 30, Huawei Nepal, in association with the Tech Journos Forum (TJF), organized “Tech Forward: Media Dialogue 2026,” a high-level program featuring in-depth discussions on artificial intelligence, next-generation data center solutions, mobile broadband service enhancements, and the future of digital transformation in Nepal.

The event brought together technology experts, media professionals, and policymakers to deliberate on the evolving digital landscape and the critical role of the press in shaping technology discourse.

In his address, Chen Keyang, CEO of Huawei Nepal, acknowledged Nepal’s current standing in the regional ICT ecosystem.

“ICT development in Nepal is a little bit behind in comparison to other neighboring countries. That is both a challenge and an opportunity at the same time,” Keyang said. “Huawei is willing to develop the ICT sector with Nepal. We can work together for a better digitalized Nepal, bringing the successful experience of other countries and regions.”

The program also featured technical presentations and interactive sessions covering key topics such as 5G technology, renewable energy integration in telecom infrastructure, and next-generation networks.

Participants showed keen interest in the relationship between technology and media, particularly focusing on factual information dissemination in the digital age, cybersecurity threats, and data privacy concerns.

Speaking at the event, President of the Tech Journos Forum Purna Bhakta Duwal expressed deep appreciation for Huawei’s longstanding contribution to Nepal’s connectivity journey.

“We are very profound to have a collaboration with Huawei. Huawei has played a significant role in the development of telecommunications and networking sectors in Nepal,” the TJF President said. “TJF has organized many training sessions, workshops, and seminars with policymakers to discuss emerging problems in the technology sector in Nepal. This dialogue is another step forward in that direction.”

The event concluded with a consensus on the need for stronger collaboration between technology companies, media, and government bodies to address the challenges of digital transformation while maximizing its benefits for Nepali society.
