SATV, Kathmandu, May. 13 - President Ramchandra Paudel on Monday presented the government’s policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2026/27, outlining that the “Devbhoomi Nepal” national campaign will be conducted to establish Nepal as a centre of global spiritual tourism.

While reading out the policies and programmes, President Paudel said that a national policy will be adopted to protect Nepal’s rivers as the foundation of civilisation, culture, biodiversity, and human existence.

President Paudel further said that rivers of religious, cultural, ecological, and social importance will be scientifically studied.

A clean, continuously flowing river system will be ensured for future generations, while preserving the indigenous communities, traditions, and spiritual values connected to the rivers as national heritage.

Nepal will be developed as an emerging destination for religious, cultural, health, educational, film, spiritual, and leisure tourism. Pashupatinath, Lumbini, Janakpurdham, and Muktinath regions will be promoted through a spiritual pilgrimage policy.

Nepal’s original identity, language, art, and heritage will be established on the global stage, and its soft power will be expanded. A “Brand Nepal Campaign” will be launched by promoting Nepali goods, services, culture, and tourism globally through missions abroad.

Moreover, film, documentary, photography, and digital content production will be developed as industries. By promoting the country’s natural and cultural heritage in the international market, Nepal will be established as an international film shooting and creative destination.
