
SATV, Kathmandu, May 20: The box office report of four Nepali films currently running in cinemas has been released. The report, covering collections up to May 11, has been made public.
According to the report, ‘Paral ko Aago,’ released on April 24 and directed by Laxman Sunwar, has earned Rs. 42.22 million with approximately 152,928 tickets sold. The film continues to show strong audience engagement across cinemas.
The currently successful film Lalibazar, directed and written by Yam Thapa, has earned Rs. 34.26 million with around 114,856 tickets sold.
The film features performances by Swastima Khadka, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Samaira Thapa, Mukund Kumar Shrestha, Prem Pandey, Asha Paudel, Abha Aryal, Tara Sharma, and others. The film also marks the debut of Bishal Devkota and Prashamsa Subedi. Bishal is a theatre artist, while Prashamsa is popularly known as a Gen Z actress.
The screenplay and dialogues have been jointly written by Thapa and Pradeep Bhattarai. At the lower end, ‘Malati Mangale’ has recorded approximately 13,890 tickets sold, with earnings of around Rs. 4.4 million, reflecting modest but steady viewership.
The film is produced by singer Ram Krishna Dhakal and features Barsha Raut and Bijay Baral in the lead roles.
Meanwhile, ‘Guru Aama’ has collected approximately 8,974 ticket sales, with gross earnings of around Rs. 2.8 million.
The 128-minute film focuses on the importance of education and social issues. It features Mithila Sharma in the lead role as a dedicated teacher.
The film also stars Buddhi Tamang, Prem Soni Sunar, and Sushil Pokharel in prominent roles. It is directed by Prem Soni Sunar.
Meanwhile, the other two Nepali films, ‘Life Damage’ and ‘Ek Mutthi Badal’, both released on May 15, are currently running in theatres. The box office reports for both films are yet to come.
