SATV, Kathmandu, July. 07 - The second edition of the solo dance competition Nritya Sangram crowned Isani Ale Magar as the Junior A champion, Kripa Gurung as the Junior B champion, and Lajima Rai as the Senior champion.
Organised by B2D Dance School Pokhara, the grand finale was held at the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hall, where 39 finalists competed across three categories.
The three winners each received a cash prize of Rs.70,000, along with a trophy and certificate. The results were determined through a scoring system comprising 70 per cent judges marks and 30 per cent online voting.
The judging panel was led by senior choreographer Kamal Rai, with Rabita Magar and Samarpan Lama serving as judges. According to B2D Dance School founder Aman Tamang, the winners were selected through a transparent and impartial evaluation process.
In the Junior A category, Nerisa Gurung finished as first runner-up, Pransi Bastola was second runner-up, Elina Nepali secured third runner-up.
In the Junior B category, Shreeman Magar was first runner-up, Priya Gurung second runner-up, Yojana Gurung third runner-up.
In the Senior category, Nayan Baraili was named first runner-up, Ashriya KC second runner-up, Shikha Jimba Tamang third runner-up.
First runners-up in all three categories received Rs.30,000 each, second runners-up were awarded Rs.20,000 each, and third runners-up received Rs.10,000 each, along with trophies and certificates.
The grand finale featured outstanding performances by the finalists, alongside special cultural dance performances by guest and other artists, which proved to be a major attraction. The event drew a large audience, with participants showcasing exceptional talent and celebrating Nepal's rich dance tradition.
According to the organisers, Nritya Sangram aims to discover, encourage and nurture emerging dance talent, providing young performers with opportunities to progress to the national stage.
They believe the competition has contributed to the development of dance culture in Pokhara while offering an effective platform for young artists to showcase their talents.
