With a large presence of business travelers and tech companies, the new route is expected to further strengthen trade and people-to-people relations between Nepal and China.

This route by Himalaya Airlines is also expected to increase tourist arrivals and further boost the hotel and tourism sectors.

In the initial phase, the airline will operate two flights per week. Flights from Kathmandu will depart on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 21:50, while return flights from Shenzhen will operate on Wednesdays and Fridays at 05:55.

Flight schedule:

Kathmandu–Shenzhen (KTM–SZX): Tuesdays and Thursdays, departure 21:50, arrival 04:30+1

Shenzhen–Kathmandu (SZX–KTM): Wednesdays and Fridays, departure 05:55, arrival 08:35

Vice President Vijay Shrestha of the airline stated that this route marks the beginning of a “new era” for the company and reaffirmed the commitment to providing safe and high-quality service to passengers. He added that flight frequency will be increased depending on demand.

Tickets can be booked through official airline counters, travel partners, the official website, and the mobile application.

Himalaya Airlines was established in 2014 as a Nepal–China joint venture. The company currently operates four aircraft and provides services to various destinations in the Middle East, South Asia, and China. Focused on safety, quality, and service improvement, the airline has also achieved several international recognitions in recent years.

This new Kathmandu–Shenzhen route is seen as an important step toward expanding air connectivity and economic opportunities for Nepal.
