At least 35 suspects have been arrested in a special joint search operation conducted in the Borella area by the police, STF and army personnel.

Police said two suspects in possession of heroin, four with ice narcotic drugs and six suspects with ganja were arrested during the operation.

Also,  two suspects in possession of 02 swords and two suspects with pending warrants and other 19 suspects were arrested on suspicion for questioning.

Meanwhile, police said over Rs. 2.6 million in cash suspected to have been earned from heroin trafficking were found in the possession of a suspect arrested with heroin and Rs. 215,000 suspected to have been earned from ice drug trafficking were also found in possession of another suspect arrested with ice narcotic drug. 

The suspects are to be produced before the Hulftsdorp and Maligakanda Magistrates' Courts today (12).
