KATHMANDU, JULY 19

Two Nepali climbers have successfully scaled G2 in Pakistan this morning.

Nima Rinji Sherpa along with his climbing partner Pasang Nurbu Sherpa completed G1 and G2 in less than 25 hours, said Chhang Dawa Sherpa, Expedition Director at Seven Summit Treks.

Nima Rinji has made multiple climbing records as he scaled six 8,000ers at the age of 17 years, he said.

"They climbed G1 at 6:10am yesterday and stood atop G2 at 6:00am this morning," he shared.

Nima Rinji successfully ascended G2 at the age of 17 years and 91 days, which makes him the youngest climber ever to do so, according to SST Director Tashi Lakpa Sherpa.

Nima Rinji has also become the world's youngest climber to have scaled G1 and G2. He scaled Nanga Parbat on June 26 becoming the youngest climber to have scaled the mountain.

Earlier in the last spring season, Nima also set the world record on Mt Everest and Lhotse at the youngest age by climbing double headers (8000ers) at 17 years 35 days on 24 May within 10 hours.

In 2022, Nima from the Seven Summit Treks and 14 Peaks Expedition, set the world after becoming the youngest person in the world to have scaled Mt Manaslu real summit.

Nima Rinji is on a mission to become the youngest climber to complete all 14 peaks above 8,000m. "He will attempt to scale two remaining peaks – K2 and Broad Peak – in Pakistan this season," Tashi Lakpa said.
