SATV 1 May, 2025: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to inaugurate the Koshi Province Investment Summit today, marking the start of a two-day event organized by the provincial government.

The summit will be held at the Birendra Auditorium in Biratnagar, with all necessary preparations completed. Organizers believe the event will be a milestone in the economic transformation of Koshi Province, which they say offers strong potential for investment and development.

According to Dr. Saroj Koirala, Executive Director of the Investment Authority, a total of 71 projects will be presented during the summit, requiring an estimated investment of Rs 173.49 billion. These projects span various sectors such as tourism, agriculture, industry, energy, infrastructure, information technology, and services.

Dr. Koirala also mentioned that the summit will include discussions across six key thematic areas: agriculture, tourism, industrial production, marketing, infrastructure development, energy, and healthcare and medical education.

Investors from several countries—including Nepal, India, China, Russia, the United States, South Korea, and other Western nations—are expected to attend the summit.

Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Rewati Raman Bhandari noted that the event will help generate employment and encourage the use of domestic capital. He also expressed the government’s readiness to revise laws that may discourage investment.

Likewise, Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Ram Bahadur Magar emphasized that the summit will aid in boosting the province’s economy, generate jobs, and foster development in sectors vital to tourism and production growth.
