SATV, Kathmandu, Aug. 11: Kandara, a Nepali musical band, is set to begin its 2026 US tour with ‘Rhythm of Change’.
According to a press release issued by Bishishta International Inc., the tour aims to use music to connect communities and encourage positive social change.
The tour will go beyond live performances, creating opportunities for audiences to discuss cultural identity, belonging, homecoming and the changing role of the Nepali diaspora, the press release said.
For more than three decades, Kandara has connected generations through songs celebrating Nepal’s landscapes, people, traditions and shared experiences.
Through the US tour, the band aims to continue this tradition while bringing Nepali communities together across generations and borders.
The band seeks to show how music can build resilience, strengthen communities, encourage civic engagement and promote understanding between cultures.
Kandara will also engage with Nepali diaspora communities in the US to discuss ways to preserve Nepali art and literature while contributing to the country’s future.
Fans, community leaders, diplomats and cultural organisations are expected to join the tour, which will mark more than 30 years of Kandara’s musical journey.
Kandara was founded in Pokhara, Nepal, in 1992.
