SATV, Kathmandu, Sept. 15 - Advocate Rajendra Sharma has stated that a deep study is necessary regarding the real reasons why Nepal was not invited or did not participate in the BRICS summit. He said this while speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Monday.

He stated that a deep study is necessary on whether Nepal was invited to BRICS and if invited, why Nepal did not participate. He mentioned that comments are being made that Nepal does not need to go to BRICS as it is connected to America's development project MCC and that it is appropriate not to participate as it is a country that adopts a non-aligned foreign policy, and said that the real reason for this should be investigated.

He also stated that it remains unanswered whether the content published linking the names of ruling party leaders in Grey Magazine is based on facts or motivated by character assassination. He said that BRICS has put forward the debate of a multidimensional economic structure as an alternative to a unipolar world economy.

He said, ‘Questions are being raised as to why Nepal did not participate in BRICS now? Why was Nepal not invited? Questions are also arising as to why it did not go even when invited. Some are also arguing that Nepal does not need to go there after being connected to MCC. There are also arguments that it is appropriate not to go as Nepal adopts a non-aligned foreign policy. We need to investigate the real reason.’

He further said, ‘Whether the news that Nepal received a donation of two million rupees through Grey Magazine is true or if it was published intentionally to assassinate the character of ruling leaders has not been confirmed. Until we can get to the depth of this matter, it will be difficult to reach its depth.’

He stated that the concept of regional currency is also being debated with the objective that no country in the future should face an economic crisis like Sri Lanka due to a dollar-dependent economy.
