SATV, Kathmandu, Sept. 17 - The staff of Himalaya Airlines (H9) voluntarily raised a total of NPR 1,470,666 in a gesture of solidarity with those affected by the recent devastating Rasuwa Bhotekoshi flood. Of this amount, 10% was provided as direct support to the family of an H9 staff member personally affected by the disaster, while the remaining NPR 1,320,666 was handed over to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for victims of Nepal's recent floods.

The contribution follows the catastrophic flash floods of 26 August 2026, when a sudden surge along the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa district swept through downstream communities along the Trishuli corridor, causing significant loss of life, mass displacement, and extensive damage to homes, roads, bridges, and infrastructure across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and neighboring districts. A cheque amounting to NPR 1,320,666 was presented to Mr. Khadak Raj Poudel (Ganess), Honorable Minister for Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation by Vice President Administration of Himalaya Airlines, Mr. Vijay Shrestha on September 17, 2026.

Employees across departments at Himalaya Airlines came forward on their own initiative to pool resources for the national relief effort, reflecting the airline's continued commitment to standing with the nation in times of crisis. In addition to the financial contribution, Himalaya Airlines staff also came together to collect and donate clothing to Kathmandu School of Law, supporting efforts to provide essential items to communities affected by the disaster. This collective initiative reflects the employees’ spirit of compassion, resourcefulness, and solidarity during a time of need.
