The sixth 'Nepal International Film Festival' (NIFF) has begun from Nepal by conducting a program in Civil Mall,Kathmandu. Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF), which started with the slogan 'Celebration of stories from around the world', was formally launched on Thursday.

Film Development Board Chairman Bhuvan KC, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song, Senior Actress Vasundhara Bhushal, Coordinator of NIFF Yadav Bhattarai and President of NIFF KP Pathak highlighted the importance of NIF in the program.

The festival, which will run until the 6th of Chaitra will feature 95 films from 35 countries. The films at the festival will be screened from 4 halls of QFX, Civil Mall, Chhayan Centre, Lobbing Mall in Pulchowk and Bhatbhateni in Bhaktapur,Radheradhe. Other sessions will be held at the Tourism Board at Bhrikutimandap.

NIFF is scheduled to be held from March 16, 2023 to March 20, 2023 both online and offline, allowing audiences from around the world to participate. It has a list of independent films to blockbusters serving different taste for everyone.
Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF) is the most important film event of Nepal established in 2018 with the main motivation ofthe festival to provide a platform for the development and growth of the Nepali film industry.

"Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF), which was started in 2018 with the motto "Cinema is Enter to Phenomena", was addressed to the audience and journalists present in the program saying thatwith your love and support, we have come this far and hope that you will continue to love us.
Prime Minister PusphaKamal Dahal had expressed grief over his failure to participate in the program due to the delay in the work of the Vice President election.

His Excellency, Cheng Song, Ambassador of People's Republic of China to Nepal stated that in 2013, the film "Up in the wind" with beautiful landscape of Nepal was a showcase to the Chinese people, becoming ahot tourist destination for Chinese people overnight.
He added, "as future of all countries is closesly connected, movies can serve as the bridge of our friendship, and cultural exchange".
He further presents, " We welcome Nepal to import moreChinese film, we also want to import more Nepali films to China, I believe that the cooperation between China and Nepal work great resulting to bring out people closer".

NIF President KP Pathak, said that more than 500 films were submitted but only 95 of 35 countries came under its selection. He is thankful that more than 20 countrie's filmmakers were present in the program.
He expresses his gratitude to Nepalese audience saying, "Time and again you have shown virtue, time and again you have encouraged and filled us with spirit to make films".
The film 'Chari'(uncompetitive) directed by Kerin Sharma was screened as the 'opening film' of NIF.
