The Indian police have arrested five people who were involved in printing fake Nepali and Indian rupees and sending them to Nepal while staying in the Indian territory across the Nepal-India border.

Bahraich ATS and Rupaidiha police have arrested a gang of Nepali and Indian fake rupees and sending them to Nepal while staying at Rupaidiha in Bahraich district of India.

According to the information given by the Head of Rupaidiha Police Station, SO Sridhar Pathak, five people from Lakhimpur district were arrested when Bahraich ATS and Rupaidiha Police took joint action based on information about printing and distributing fake rupees near Rupaidiha.

He said that during the search of a vehicle with five arrested passengers, money printing machine, laptop, printer and scissors along with 52 thousand fake Indian rupees and 5 thousand fake Nepali rupees were recovered from that vehicle.

According to the Indian police, those arrested are Mustaq, Faizul Hasan, resident of Trikolia, Hasanpur Katauli, Alim, Birsinghpur and Kuldeep Awasthi, resident of Raipur village.

Bahraich District Police Chief SP Prashant Verma said that all those arrested were booked under various sections related to fake notes and other crimes and sent to Bahraich Jail.
