West Bengal Panchayat Election 2023 Live Updates: At least three people have been killed in clashes as widespread violence has been disrupting the voting process in West Bengal Panchayat elections. A Trinamool Congress worker has been killed during a clash allegedly between the ruling party and Congress workers at Chapra in Nadia district. As the voting commenced at 7 am today, a BJP and another Trinamool workers were killed in two separate cases of violence in Malda and Cooch Behar respectively.
Another supporter of an independent candidate was critically injured in a clash in Kadambagachi of North 24 Parganas. His family claimed that the man was beaten to death. The police however later confirmed that he was admitted in hospital with grave injuries.
Meanwhile, the TMC claimed that three of their party workers have been murdered in Rejinagar, Tufanganj and Khargram and two have been left wounded by gunshots in Domkol. The voters in Nandigram-Block 1 of East Medinipur district have decided to boycott the election until Central forces are deployed at booth numbers 67 and 68 in Mahammadpur No 2 area.
