An explosion took place at the Kulhudhuffushi Airport on Thursday, leaving four people injured.
The police said the explosion took place while airport workers were refilling a cylinder during training.
Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital’s spokesperson Mohamed Moosa said four people were brought in with injuries at around 11:13 am Thursday.
One of them was hospitalized with serious injuries, while the other three sustained minor injuries.
“I am unable to detail the injuries at this time, but the patient sustained serious injuries,” said Moosa, when asked about the hospitalized patient.
The hospital’s manager Ahmed Dawood identified the patients as three males and one female – all of them airport workers.
The police are at the scene.
