Kathmandu, May 15 : Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Devraj Ghimire held a meeting today to end the deadlock surfaced in both the House of the federal parliament.
At a discussion held at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, Speaker Ghimire said that the continued obstruction taking place in the context when the bills tabled have not been endorsed has spread mistrust among the public to the parliament, the Speaker's secretariat shared.
During the meet, Speaker Ghimire urged Prime Minister Dahal to immediately forge consensus with the main opposition party when the motion of thanks to President Ramchandra Paudel for presenting the government's policies and programmes was not passed in the House.
If the parliamentary proceedings move ahead, some bills can be immediately passed and some others to be sent to the committees, the Speaker briefed.
According to the secretariat, PM Dahal informed the Speaker that a meeting of the top leaders of ruling parties has been set for today which he said would create environment to ensure smooth parliamentary proceeding scheduled for Thursday.
