SATV 17 July, Kathmandu: The Yarsagumba collection work has been completed in the upper Mugu region. 26 kilograms 200 grams of Yarsagumba have been exported from the region.

Office Chief of the Division Forest Office, Mugu, Lalit Kumar Karn, said that the quantity of Yarsagumba was collected and exported by early July.

He said that a revenue of Rs. 812,268 was collected from the export of that quantity of Yarsagumba.

A fee of Rs. 31,000 per kilogram is being charged for the export of Yarsagumba from the district.

Yarsha is collected from seven places in the Upper Mugu district.

According to local Yarsagumba trader Karmatorchi Lama, although yarsagumba can be found in many local villages, it is mainly collected from the Thulokoiki village in the forest area of Mugugaun.

According to Mugu Makarmarong Village Municipality Chairman Tshiring Kyapne Lama, office statistics show that around 5,000 people have obtained permits to collect Yarchagumba since May 29.

Lama said that valuable herbs cannot be collected without a permit. Therefore, they are allowed to go towards Patan only after obtaining a permit.

There is a provision that one can go to Patan only after the management committee of Mugumakarmarong Rural Municipality grants permission for Yarsagumba collection.

Accordingly, permission is given to locals as well as people from outside the district to collect Yarsagumba in Sirani Chaud.

In the upper Mugu region of the district, Yarsagumba is collected from May 29 to July.
