
Kathmandu, Jan 18: In the inaugural match of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier, Nepal has set a victory target of 123 runs before Thailand.
The match took place at Tribhuvan University Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur, where Nepal, having lost the toss and being asked to bat first, managed to score 122 runs before being bowled out in their allotted 20 overs.
Bindu Rawal was the standout performer for Nepal, scoring 44 runs off 56 balls, which included six boundaries. Samjhana Khadka contributed 26 runs from just 11 balls, while Rubina Chhetri added 17 runs off 10 balls, featuring two sixes and a four.
Pooja Mahato chipped in with 12 runs, but the rest of the team struggled to reach double digits. On the bowling front for Thailand, Thipatcha Puthawang was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets.
Onnita Kamchompu supported with two wickets, while Chanida Suttharuwang, Suliporn Laomi, and Sunida Chaturongratan each took one wicket. (RSS)
