Tourism poetry symposium held

SATV, Kathmandu, Feb. 12: Four organisations jointly featured a tourism poetry symposium in the serene site of Pharping, Kathmandu, recently.

The programme was jointly organised by Suseli Literary Group, Shabdankur, Bartaman Kavita Samuha, and Shabdapath. Poets from Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur participated in the event. The programme was held in an open-air setting. 

No chairperson or chief guest was designated for the programme. Instead, all participating poets were addressed equally as 'chief guests,' emphasising collective respect and inclusivity.

Poetry recitations were presented by Krishna Kandel, Bishwa Sigdel, Chandra Bahadur Lama, Krishna Kumar Shrestha, Govinda Bahadur Khadka, Chandralal Tamang, Binod Khatri, Deepak Lohani, Dhanwantari Mishra, Navinraj Pandey, Narayan Tiwari, Pramod Pradhan, Balkrishna Shrestha Pasa, Murari Sigdel, Rajani Khatri, Ramesh Balami, Rajendra Shalabh, Ram Gopal Ashutosh, Achyut Ghimire, Rajaram Raut, Bidhan Acharya, Bishwanath Wagle, Bishwa Bimohan Shrestha, Bishnu Bibhu Ghimire, Shekhar Aryal, Sanjay Suman, Sabita KC Bohara, Sarita Balami, Subhash Chandra Paudel Bhimphediya, Sushant KC, Snehi Shiva, Ramraja KC, Dhir Kumar Shrestha, Rami Priya, Shekhar Kumar Shrestha, Bhogendra Lingden, and Kishor Pahadi.

Speaking on the occasion, Kishor Pahadi, Editor-in-Chief of Shabdapath, stated that organising a literary programme at a historic site was a purposeful initiative. He also expressed satisfaction with the successful collaboration among various literary organisations.

Poets who recited their works were presented with tokens of love. Following the programme, the local community welcomed the participants with traditional Newari snacks of 'Samay Baji.' 

The poets were also taken for a visit to the historic Chndrajyoti Hydropower Station, memorial sites, and the Rana-era rest house.
