
SATV, Kathmandu, Feb. 14 - Kishor Shrestha, editor of Jan Astha Saptahik, has been honored with the ‘Devendra Gautam Journalism Award’. The award was presented to Shrestha on the occasion of the 80th birth anniversary of the late journalist Devendra Gautam.
The ceremony was held on Saturday in Suryabinayak, Bhaktapur, where Pradeepa Gautam, Chairperson of Current Media Pvt. Ltd., and senior journalist Rochak Ghimire presented the award and a certificate of appreciation to Editor Shrestha. The award carries a cash prize of NPR 100,000.
Current Media Pvt. Ltd. stated that the award was given in recognition of Shrestha’s long-term and distinguished contribution to the field of journalism. The media house also noted that Shrestha has upheld the values of courage, integrity, and social responsibility that Devendra Gautam embodied.
During the same event, technical staff Haribahadur Thapa, who has been with Current Media for 36 years, and journalist Zhang Chanyi from China News Service were also awarded NPR 50,000 each.
