NAC pilot suspended on allegations of unruly behaviour

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has barred a pilot of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) flight RA-416 from flying on the charge of allegedly misbehaving with a crew member onbroad a flight enroute Kathmandu from Malaysia about seven months ago.

 

The authority has suspended all crew members that were onboard the flight from flying until further notice and has directed the corporation to launch an investigation into the matter following a complaint filed by the alleged victim.

 

According to Jagganath Niraula, spokesperson for CAAN, the pilot on a flight (RA-416) of the NAC flying to Kathmandu from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on July 28, 2022 has been barred from flying on charge of mistreating one of the crew members.

"The action was taken following a complaint filed by the victim for being misbehaved by the pilot during the flight. We have directed the NAC to investigate the matter and have suspended the pilot until the investigation concludes," he said.

In relation to the incident, CAAN has also prevented all other crew members who were onboard the flight from flying for the time being. "Further details into the case will come to light after NAC looks into the case and submits its report to CAAN," Niraula informed, adding all the names have been withheld till the investigation concludes.
