Delhi News Live Updates, May 2: Jailed gangster Sunil Maan alias Tillu Tajpuriya was beaten to death by rival gang members inside Delhi’s Tihar Jail Tuesday morning, police said. Police added that he was thrashed with iron rods. The accused have been identified as gangster Yogesh Tonda and his associates Deepak Titar, Rajesh Singh and Riyaz Khan.

In other news, the Delhi Police Special Cell has issued a notice to gangster Guddu Muslim, a close associate of deceased don Atiq Ahmed. Police said the case is related to an Arms Act case lodged against Guddu this March. Guddu, an accused in the Umesh Pal murder case, is still on the run while other accused have been caught or killed in encounters. The Delhi Police said their probe isn’t related to the Umesh Pal case.

Meanwhile, rain lashed parts of Delhi on Monday afternoon, with parts of south and south east Delhi seeing a heavy downpour. The rain has also brought about a big dip in the temperature, with the minimum on Monday being recorded at 19.6 degrees Celsius, five degrees below normal. According to officials at the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the rain is a result of a fresh western disturbance that has also brought rain to parts of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
