SATV Mar 02,Kathmandu: A noteworthy seminar titled “Physical and Cultural-Ethical Advancement: The Practice of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture” was successfully held yesterday in Kathmandu, organized by Friends on the Cloud: Platform of Influencers Nepal. The event highlighted the positive impact of integrating physical development with cultural and moral transformation on the nation’s progress.

The seminar saw the esteemed presence of Badri Prasad Pandey, Nepal’s Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation; His Excellency Chen Song, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Nepal; former Nepalese Ambassador to China Bishnu Pukar Shrestha; and prominent academics including Professor Atul Koirala, among other distinguished attendees.

The event commenced with a photo exhibition showcasing cultural exchanges that accentuated the friendship between Nepal and China, recalling Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Nepal in 2019. Additionally, a video address was presented from Sujata Koirala, the leader of a 20-member Nepali Congress delegation currently visiting China.

Professor Atul Koirala, while addressing the gathering, emphasized the longstanding friendship between Nepal and China. He noted that by following Xi Jinping Thought, Nepal can similarly chart a path of progress, stressing the importance of a collective will to achieve this. He reminisced about how the artist Araniko won the hearts of the Chinese people and urged Nepali artists to draw inspiration from Chinese advancements for the upliftment of the nation.

Ambassador Chen Song remarked on the exemplary neighborly relationship between Nepal and China, expressing readiness to support Nepal’s development through various efforts. He emphasized that Xi Jinping Thought is not only beneficial for China but serves the interests of the entire global community, asserting that it holds answers to many of civilization's pressing questions.

Moreover, he detailed various initiatives held in Nepal, including the Nanhai Buddhist Roundtable Conference, International Mountaineering cross-country race, Dragon boat racing competitions, the Fewa Dialogue, Lumbini Peace Festival, and programs marking the Chinese New Year, all aimed at promoting Xi Jinping Thought as a significant global philosophy.

Minister Badri Prasad Pandey expressed his satisfaction in participating in the conference, drawing from his background in political science. While acknowledging the physical development achieved through Xi Jinping Thought, he also emphasized the crucial aspects of happiness and cultural preservation among the populace. He urged a shift from the current sense of despair within Nepal to actively building a beautiful future.

Overall, the seminar underscored the potential for a harmonious relationship between physical progress and cultural and moral values, reflecting on China's advancements as a model for Nepal. It was reiterated that such development necessitates high-level leadership and a thoughtful adoption of Xi Jinping Thought.
