A factory has been fined Tk40,000 for allegedly making ice cream using BSTI's logo at Fakirhat in Bagerhat.
RAB-6 Commanding Officer Lt Col Firoz Kabir said: "On tip off we conducted a raid on Monday afternoon in Shyambazar area and fined the New Vivo Ice Cream Factory owner."
The factory was making ice cream using unauthorized and harmful dyes and chemicals, he added.
A mobile court fined the factory owner, Masud Rana, Tk40,000 under Section 43 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009.
Unauthorized ice cream and ice cream making equipment was destroyed on the spot and the factory was sealed.
