SATV 8 May, Kathmandu: Advance ticket booking has already begun for the film Unko Sweater (The Woollen Sweater), which will be released nationwide on Friday.

The film, which had already gained attention through its teaser, trailer, and songs, has generated even more interest among viewers.

Nepal’s largest cinema chain, QFX, opened ticket bookings from Tuesday. 

Similarly, major theatres in the Kathmandu Valley like Big Movies, INI, Fcube, and most cinemas outside the valley have also started selling tickets of the film. 

According to distributor Govinda Shahi, as of the time this news was prepared, cinema halls across the country have already allotted a large number of shows for the film. 

Although the exact number of shows will be officially announced on Thursday, projections suggest it will exceed 300. 

Produced under the banner of Artmandu , Unko Sweater features lead actors Bipin Karki, Miruna Magar, Pariksha Limbu, Alex Paras, and Wilson Bikram Rai. 

The film also includes powerful performances by seasoned actors such as Sunil Pokharel, Maotse Gurung, Prem Subba, Suraj Tamang, Sharda Devi Silwal, and Bhawana Khapangi Magar.

Songs like ‘Phool’,  ‘Makhamali’,  and ‘Kafle’, directed by Sujan Chapagain and Jhuma Limbu, have already gained widespread popularity among audiences. 

The trailer, which has gone viral on social media, has further heightened anticipation for the film.

The film also marks the feature film directorial debut of Nabin Chauhan. 

The story stretches from Panchthar in eastern Nepal to the border of West Bengal, India. 

The film was shot in Panchthar, eastern Nepal, and the border area of Phalelung in India.

According to director Chauhan, the film attempts to encapsulate cultural diversity, social contradictions, and the vibrant colours of Nepali society in a single narrative. The film has received a Universal Certificate from the censor board. 

Meanwhile, a grand premiere of the film was held at Big Movies in Kamaladi, Kathmandu, on Wednesday. Film artists, celebrities and journalists attended the premiere.
