Pokhara Airport to start flights from January 2023 With the successful first flight at Pokhara Regional International Airport, everyone is celebrating. After nearly five decades of dreaming of an airport, the construction of the airport was completed and the excitement increased with the flight landing for the first time.
The Nepal Civil Aviation Authority has planned commercial, domestic and international, flights from the airport from Jan 1. Although the international flight is not finalized, the domestic flight is sure to start.
Narayan Shrestha, chairman of the Pokhara Tourism Council, said that the test flight at the newly built airport was successful and they are happy and excited that the airport will come to operation from the new year.
Dhanraj Acharya, head of Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality, said that the final preparations for the operation of the airport after the successful test flight at the airport is a matter of happiness for all. He said that since the airport was built after a long wait, everyone should work together to solve the problem and work for continuous operation.
Four decades after the acquisition of land for the international airport, the construction of the airport started in 2074 with the foundation stone being laid a year ago.
