Kathmandu-CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli today met Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and discussed common minimum programme of the ruling coalition.

Dahal's personal aide Ramesh Malla told mediapersons after the meeting that the two leaders discussed CMP and ways to make service delivery effective.

The two leaders also discussed decisions taken by the first meeting of the Cabinet where the government decided to ensure good governance and find ways to reduce crowd at offices issuing passports and driving licences, Malla added.

Two coalition partners - Rastriya Swatantra Party and Rastriya Prajatantra Party - have demanded that a commission be formed to investigate assets of political leaders and high-ranking government officials who had held public posts since 1990.

The ruling parties will discuss power sharing and Cabinet portfolios tomorrow. Dahal may allocate Cabinet portfolios only after seeking the vote of confidence as the allocation of portfolios could make some partners unhappy.

Three out of the seven parties supporting the Dahal government - RPP, Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal, and Nagarik Unmukti Party - have said they would extend outside support to the government at this stage. RPP has started discussion within the party about whether or not the party should join the coalition government.

Meanwhile, Dahal today met CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal and urged him to support the government. CPN (US) has 10 seats in the House of Representatives.

CPN (US) General Secretary Beduram Bhusal said Nepal told Dahal that his party would discuss the matter and take a call on the proposal. Nepal was miffed at Dahal for suddenly leaving the Nepali Congress-led alliance and forging alliance with the CPN-UML without consulting him.
