Three buses were set ablaze in different areas in Dhaka on Monday ahead of BNP’s 36-hour road-rail-waterway blockade across the country starting Tuesday morning.
The buses were set on fire in the areas of Tikatuli, Mohammadpur, and Motijheel.
A staff bus of the Delta Life Insurance company was set on fire around 9.54pm in front of the Rajdhani Super Market in the Tikatuli area.
Sutrapur Fire Station station officer Md Sanjoy said that the fire was extinguished by two fire engines.
Meanwhile, a Midline Paribahan bus was set on fire in the Mohammadpur area around 8.30pm. The fire was put out by the locals before the firefighters reached the spot.
Beforehand, a staff bus of Shilpa Bank was torched in the Motijheel area on Monday afternoon.
