Kathmandu, January 28: The Chinese Embassy in Nepal held a Tibetan New Year reception at the Yak and Yeti Hotel on Sunday. Nearly a thousand Tibetans and friends from all walks of life in Nepal celebrated this traditional festival together.
The reception was filled with a strong festive atmosphere.Venue was highly decoerated with Tibetan style giving a good festive atmosphere.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song delivered a warm speech, introducing to the Tibetan compatriots in Nepal last year's domestic economic achievements and the all-round progress and historic achievements made by the Tibet Autonomous Region in various undertakings with the strong support of the whole country.
Ambassador Chen Song stressed that the Embassy will always be a warm home for overseas Chinese, and the Embassy will continue to practice the concept of people-oriented diplomacy to benefit the people, and provide better services to the vast number of Tibetan compatriots with heart, emotion and effort.
Finally, Ambassador Chen Song extended New Year greetings and best wishes to all Tibetans in Nepal.
At the invitation of the embassy, the Song and Dance Troupe of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Gansu Province brought home greetings and best wishes for the New Year to the Tibetan compatriots in Nepal. The performers carefully prepared a series of programs with Tibetan characteristics, including traditional dances, songs and musical instruments.
The show was sold out and the audience was enthusiastic. The performers dressed in traditional Tibetan costumes, with superb skills and full of enthusiasm, presented more than a dozen singing and dancing performances full of Tibetan characteristics to the audience, showing the unique charm of Tibetan art.
